We're about to pile into the Inkiebus and head on down to Das Kapital. If anyone hasn't already arranged their night, you could do worse than coming to see The Eden House being supported by various sundry noisy Goth bands including Rhombus and Legion.
Fancy getting in for cheap? Of course you do, it's a recession don't you know. So print out the below flyer, and come see us for less!

On Saturday, us redneck provincials will be visiting Vagabonds and - apparently - Slimelight, so come say Hello.
I'm off to fall asleep in a tour van now. See yer! |

The Warehouse's back-up phone whilst the Sinifone is in drydock is utter shite. It's like a naff eighties toaster, no, wait, it is Talkie Toaster from Red Dwarf! D:
Also, I have lost all messages and contacts, so please don't send me incomprehensible text messages, as I don't have any of your numbers! Poverty strikes - I'd rather be in York, visiting ...Deviation with Hamster and that lot, but it is not to be. Well, tomorrow, some of you scumbags had better organise my social life and tell me where and when we're meeting for this festival type stuff. Then, films and boozing.
Irrelevant update - out! |

Hah! The Service's automated filter somehow overlooks the livejournal login page. Hello, dear readers! I feel I have earned the right to skive* as I have cleared all the trays it's my job to look after, including the backlog of work dumped on us by our more famous Cousins over the road. Anyway, it's not as though I get enough for doing this work...
Slightly unnerved one of the girls who works downstairs. Her department inputs into our procedures, and occasionally she pays a visit clutching pieces of paper which generally cause annoyance. Whilst sorting through my trays - so to speak - I asked her if she'd been in my local post office previously, as I'd seen someone I thought resembled her. To jog her memory, I recounted verbatim a conversation she'd had on her phone at the time, and naturally, creeped her the hell out! It wasn't intentional, it's just if I'm not concentrating I let slip my odd, stalkerish tendencies. They are thankfully mitigated that I'm also a lazy, antisocial twerp with more affection for technology than people, so it all balances in a beautiful neurotic way!
Speaking of antisocial, I'm Flocking tonight. No camera I'm afraid viciouscabaret, although I do have your smoke machine and will bring that down with me. Between the club and the band, I'm amazed I don't bleed dry ice nowadays.
Nothing significant seems to be looming in my future, until July 24th when we pack off to Blaadddy Laahndaahn Towwwwn and play a gig. I haven't been to Der Kapital in fifteen or so years, and I'm vaguely anxious about this gig - usually, I'm ambivalent before a gig. After all, who can make me out under Natya's guitar, Charles' keys and Motormouth's gobwarbling, not to mention our drum assault?
Well, that's enough witter to constitute a vaguely-relevant update. I'll see some of you tonight, adorned with gare. I'll say immediately in my defence, I only own one garish shirt!
* - As opposed to just doing it anyway. |

| Racing to the Bottom of the Next Bottle |
[Apr. 27th, 2009|09:56 pm] |
Situations can change so rapidly, and I’ve got a good adaption system. A great internal mental gyroscope – mentascope? Gyrosense? – allows me to quickly bounce back and take on a new challenge. However, due to my extra chromosome, I can’t handle multiple changes all at once. This weekend was a case in point.
( tl;dr emo lol )
So I’m going to do something new, and immediately look to the future and the events that will brighten it. I'm not sure what I'm doing on Friday, maybe just getting a good night's sleep? Saturday we are heading to Sheffield to support INKUBUS SUKKUBUS which I’m really looking forward to. Then I’m letting someone else take center stage, when I head to Manchester for an audience with Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred and other WHO legends! I’m trying to pull together a cream suit so I can go as Time’s Champion, the Seventh Doctor circa the Virgin New Adventures. If anyone has a full suit, or even a 32" waist pair of cream suit trousers, I'd be much obliged! I read Love and War by Paul Cornell when I was fourteen or fifteen, and any other VNA reader will understand now what I detest about the new series!
The following weekend, it’s the 1940s weekend at Haworth Village just outside Keighley – www.haworth-village.co.uk – which includes a lot of re-enactors turning up. I’m dusting off my own particular outfit, a Second Lieutenant of the ill-fated 1st Airborne Division that parachuted into a noble defeat at Arnhem in 1944. I think I’m taking Geoff the housemate and maybe some of LEGION, other people should let me know if they’d be interested! I’m aiming for Saturday and Sunday to get the whole experience down. There are other lovely adventures beyond that, but those two weekends are going to be a great way to get out and have a lot of fun. Even a shell-shocked alcohol-abuser like me can appreciate that these distractions are far better for me than racing to the bottom of the next bottle. |

Every so often the pressure builds up so much inside, even my repressive-recursive routines aren't enough, and I need to vent through the LJ Safety Valve. I could go see a counsellor, but most counsellor's don't cost less than five pounds and can't be picked off the shelf at nine in the evening.
